Volunteer

Give your time to the wilderness.

Volunteers have quietly carried a share of the work at Baxter for decades. These are a few of the ways to join them.

Ways to help

Small hands, big park.

  • Earth Day Litter Patrol

    Saturday, April 25

A short community workday on park-adjacent roads, followed by a BBQ. Bags and hi-vis vests are provided. All ages welcome.

  • Trail Crew Day

    Select Saturdays, June – September

Work alongside the park trail crew on tread restoration, drainage, and bog bridge repair. Physical; rewarding.

  • Campground Host

    Weekly stays, May 15 – October 15

Spend a week or more at a campground helping fellow campers find their sites, their stoves, and their bearings.

  • Visiting Artist Program

    Rolling applications

Writers, painters, photographers, and musicians are invited to propose a short residency in exchange for a body of work inspired by the park.

How to volunteer.

Volunteer work is coordinated by the park’s administrative office. Please reach out to express interest or ask about upcoming days.

This form is a mockup. In production, it will route to the volunteer coordinator.

Or just come to Earth Day.

Saturday, April 25 at 9 AM. Gloves are nice. Sturdy boots are better.
